Course description

This practical workshop identifies numerous contractual issues that may arise during the execution of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract. Because claims are the true test for proper understanding of the Conditions of Contract, this Workshop will provide you with an advanced knowledge and understanding of practical issues usually addressed when dealing with construction claims, through the insights and feedback from experienced FIDIC practitioners.

This workshop presents unique and specialized issues in the form of questions, exercises, and case studies for discussion between the participants and the course tutors. This training course is over a 1-day period and deals with questions that commonly arise but may have complex contractual interpretations. The course tutors will have ample opportunities to provide their own answers to the questions so as to encourage full discussion on the issues raised.

Due to this unique structure of the Workshop, the hands-on knowledge that will be acquired by the participants will be unrivaled by any other course; as this Workshop will give you access to real life situations encountered by, and the practical experience of, internationally experts on FIDIC; an opportunity not to be missed.

This Workshop will provide a very flexible and unique opportunity to attend online from anywhere in the world; from the comfort of your home, your office, or otherwise.

Who should attend:

  • Employers (including international development banks and financiers)
  • Consulting engineers and those acting as the Engineer
  • Contractors
  • Quantity surveyors
  • Lawyers and legal practitioners
  • Claims Consultants
  • Arbitrators, Adjudicators/DB Practitioners, and Mediators
  • Public contract administrators

  • Enhance the ability to analyse different situations from the point of view of the Engineer, the Employer and the Contractor.
  • Active participation in specialised workshops, and discussion sessions to explore the ‘grey-area’ situations, and how to deal with them.
