FIDIC Academy holds 2025 Future Leaders Management Workshop at the FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference in Cape Town

The FIDIC Academy’s 2025 Future Leaders Management Course (FLMC) culminated at the end of September with a high‑impact in‑person workshop and participant presentation to over 600 industry delegates held as part of the FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference in Cape Town, running from 21 to 23 September.

The FLMC, which ran online from 25 March to 12 August 2025, is designed to equip emerging infrastructure professionals with business, management, and leadership skills.As part of the course structure, participants were offered a two‑day in‑person extension to attend the Cape Town conference at to engage directly with industry leaders.

At the conference, the Future Leaders cohort delivered a presentation on the challenges and opportunities they foresee in the global infrastructure sector, offering valuable exposure and feedback for the next generation of industry leaders centred on the theme “Smart Infrastructure: Equality, Resilience and Innovation for a Sustainable World”, bringing together policy‑makers, clients, engineers, financiers and project developers from across the globe.

The FLMC’s integration into the Cape Town event not only enabled direct networking and visibility for young professionals but also reinforced FIDIC’s commitment to capacity building and succession in the global infrastructure sector. Many FLMC graduates will continue engaging through the FIDIC Future Leaders Advisory Council (FLAC) and may contribute to the annual Future Leaders Booklet, to be launched at next year’s conference, as well as taking up impactful roles in FIDIC-related task groups and board and committee positions.
