Building the Next Generation: FIDIC Academy and London South Bank University Launch Partnership and Summer School Pathway to FIDIC Certification 

Last week, the FIDIC Academy delivered a guest seminar at London South Bank University (LSBU), marking an important milestone in strengthening collaboration between academia and the global infrastructure and engineering community. 

The session was led by FIDIC Academy General Manager Michael Broadley, alongside Taner Dedezade, FIDIC Certified Trainer, and welcomed students from LSBU’s School of Construction, Property and Surveying. The seminar introduced participants to FIDIC’s global capacity building initiatives and professional development pathways, outlining how emerging infrastructure professionals can actively engage with FIDIC’s international network. 

Speakers highlighted the importance of building strong foundations in contract management and project delivery, particularly through the application of international best practice under FIDIC contracts. Students were encouraged to consider how professional certification and continuous learning can enhance career prospects while contributing to more effective and sustainable infrastructure development worldwide. 

Launch of the FIDIC Academy – LSBU Partnership 

A key focus of the seminar was the formalisation of the partnership between FIDIC Academy and London South Bank University. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to equipping the next generation of engineers, surveyors and construction professionals with the practical knowledge and globally recognised credentials required in today’s complex infrastructure environment. 

As part of this partnership, an in-person Summer School will take place in late August at LSBU’s campus in London. The programme is specifically designed to prepare participants for the FIDIC Certified Contract Manager examination. Successful candidates will achieve professional certification delivered by FIDIC Credentialling https://fcl.fidic.org/, further strengthening their professional standing within the international infrastructure sector.

The Summer School represents an important step in connecting academic study with industry-recognised professional standards. Through structured preparation, expert instruction and practical insight, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence required to pursue FIDIC certification and advance their careers in contract management and infrastructure project delivery.
