Who should attend
This training course is specifically designed for those involved in the administration of FIDIC Contracts, either acting as Employer, Engineer, Contractor, consultant/advisor (claim consultant, legal advisor, etc.), and wishing to increase their knowledge and benefit from practical insights from Delay Analysis in FIDIC contracts related projects.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
– Develop expertise in preparing and reviewing Extension of Time (EOT) claims under FIDIC Contracts
– Understand how FIDIC Contracts allocate time-related risks and manage time across different procurement models, including the distinction between claims and variations
– Gain in-depth knowledge of delay types and apply recognised delay analysis methods (e.g., Time Impact Analysis, As-Planned vs As-Built, etc.)
– Select appropriate delay analysis approaches and evaluate the associated cost impacts, including prolongation costs

Course format
The live online course events, assessments and discussions will take place on FIDIC Academy’s eLearning platform.
Schedule and duration*
Starting date: 6 October 2025*
This course will consist of six 3-hour sessions which are usually scheduled from 13:00 – 16:00 CET/CEST weekly.

All live training sessions will be recorded, which you will be able to watch in case you can’t attend a live event. Participants will have access to the recordings and learning material for 3 months after the course end date.

Prerequisites
This is an advanced-level course. Participants are strongly recommended to have either:
- Completed the FIDIC Contracts Introductory course and the FIDIC Contract Management and Administration course, or
- Significant practical experience working with FIDIC Contracts
Technical access
This online course requires that participants have access to a computer with an internet connection either at their workplace or at home, whichever is more convenient regarding the timing of the sessions.
Official FIDIC Academy certificate
An online FIDIC Academy certificate of completion will be provided to the participants having attended all sessions (either live or recorded) and having submitted all of the case studies/ tests/ assignments (only if applicable – at the trainers’ discretion if they wish to set any) on the FIDIC Academy eLearning platform. The certificate will be issued via email and can be shared on social media, downloaded in PDF format and printed as required.
The participants who do not meet this requirement will not receive the certificate of completion.
